In 2021, HEAD Geneva graduate designers Ania Marincek and Julia La Mendola founded LARMA, an independent fashion eyewear brand born out of their shared research and dialogue around fashion, responsible design, and regenerative production. LARMA favours a short circuit production. They prefer to use materials that already existed rather than to create from scratch - recycled acetate and deadstock from other brands make up their key materials. Combining various textures, colours, and bold designs, every step of LARMA’s conception is meticulously thought through. Imagining eyewear as jewellery, the Geneva-based studio seeks to create genderless pieces that are crafted responsibly in a way which doesn’t sacrifice creative expression, but enhances it.
