Borbala is a fashion brand based in Budapest and Tirgu-Mures, focusing on upcycling and plastic recycling. They create one-of-a-kind experimental garments and accessories out of plastic waste, leftover materials, and second-hand clothing.

Deconstructed materials form the basis of Borbala, whilst traditional and DIY methods like patchwork, quilting, and textile collage provide it with its unique recognisability. Spontaneous and colourful, the label challenges the concepts of old and new, waste and luxury, traditional and contemporary.

Besides production, they also host workshops at festivals and schools to present their recycling methods and raise awareness of plastic pollution.
