Sonny Cooper’s design process grew out of their queer identity, and Scottish and Pakistani heritage. Storytelling and cultural references take centre-stage in their craft, a focus instantly recognisable in the symbolism present in their pieces.
Sonny uses primarily recycled precious metals in their process — melting down hallmarked silver spoons or repurposing gold and silver jewellery. This commitment ensures the sustainability of their craft, and fulfils their commitment to giving new purpose to forgotten objects.
